Donald Trump Attended Super Bowl LIX, Left Early After Chiefs’ Loss
NEW ORLEANS – Former U.S. President Donald Trump was a Super Bowl LIX celebrity in-person appearance as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at Caesars Superdome on Sunday.
Trump arrived to cheers and jeers from the crowd. Before the start of the game, he had sat for a pre-game interview with Fox News, a precedent set by U.S. presidents but not recently adhered to. As Jon Batiste played during the playing of the national anthem, Trump was seen saluting, which elicited conflicting emotions.

A day ago, Trump had also forecasted that the Chiefs would win, praising quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany. But while the Eagles were thrashing the game, he left the stadium early, exiting on Air Force One more than an hour prior to the conclusion of the game.
The halftime show, featuring the performance of Kendrick Lamar, was also marred by controversy when a performer was arrested on the field after flaunting Sudanese and Palestinian flags.
The appearance of Trump at the Super Bowl generated political controversies with his supporters cheering him on and his detractors asking why he was leaving so early.
