Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched CM Punjab Laptop Scheme in 2025 with a vision to give away 100,000 high-capacity laptops to the worthy students of Punjab. The scheme is for such students who are studying computer science, engineering, medicine, business, and agriculture for degrees.
Key Features of the Scheme:
Target Group: Students from matriculation to postgraduate level, particularly the students of technical, medical and social sciences will be provided laptops.
Distribution of Laptops:
20,000 to university students.
14,000 to college students.
4,000 to technical and agricultural students.
2,000 to dental and medical students.
Equity Focus: 32% of the equity laptops will be distributed among the students in South Punjab, so that the educational imbalances of the province are turned around.
Registration Process
Unlike other initiatives, no individual students will be requested to register themselves. Rather, schools will take information of such students on the basis of their performance.
Additional Help:
Aside from the laptop program, Honhaar Scholarship Program has also been initiated, offering a scholarship of financial aid to 30,000 government and 10,000 private students. This is for the purpose of decreasing the financial load on the students so that they can continue their higher studies without limitations.
This is all part of the larger project of the Punjab government to promote access and opportunities to education, shaping the province’s future professionals and business leaders.
